Vincent Olatunji, National Commissioner of di Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), claim sey di information and communication technology (ICT) sector don contribute di most to Nigeria gross domestic product (GDP), dat is a total of 16 to 18 percent ova di past four to five years.

Olatunji tok on Wednesday wen im appear on the Prime Time program on Arise Television.

“For di last 4 or 5 years, di ICT sector don make di highest contribution to di GDP, ranging between 16 and 18 percent,” na so im tok.

“And di target for di next few years, if we cari eye look di $1 trillion economy wey Mr President dey pursue, na to make sure sey di digital economy sector contribution to di GDP reach 20 percent.

In 2022, na still agriculture be di top contributor with 25.58 percent, followed by ICT at 16.52 percent, and trade at 16 percent.

In 2023, agriculture remain di leading sector with 25.18 percent, followed by ICT at 17.34 percent, and trade at 15.83 percent.
