Correction Policy

TheCable and CableCheck are committed to providing accurate, factual and reliable information to our audience.

Our editorial process is designed to filter and detect any mistakes before publication. We, however, understand that errors can occur and we value your help in correcting them. We encourage our audience to report errors detected on any content on our website through any of the platforms below:

Send an email to factcheck@thecable.ng

Contact us on our social media handles @TheCableng

In your submission, please provide as many details as possible about the error, including the URL of the fact check or story in question, the nature of the error, and any evidence you have to support your claim.

Correction Process

When we receive an error report, our editorial team thoroughly reviews the reported error and checks against previous and new evidence provided. We will independently verify the facts and consult with relevant experts where necessary.

When an error is confirmed, we will promptly update the fact-check or report with the correct information, accompanied by an editor’s note at the foot of the page with a clear explanation of the error and the corrections made. If the evidence does not support the correction or further investigation proves the information accurate based on our review, we will not update the fact check.

A feedback on the outcome may be sent to the complainant.

We believe in continuous improvement and appreciate your feedback. Your reports of errors help us maintain the accuracy and integrity of our work.  If you have any questions about our correction policy, please do not hesitate to contact us on any of our open communication channels.
