The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) don describe one viral video wey show as keke rider dey open eye for officers for Benin as “old incident.”

“Di Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) don notice one viral video wey dey currently waka for social media platforms showing as naked keke rider dey tear eye for di Corp operatives, dey damage patrol vehicle along di Benin–Sapele Road for Edo State,” na so di statement tok.

“Di recirculation na calculated act by mischievous handlers wey dey find traffic for their social media pages, misinform di public, and cause unnecessary emotions ontop mata wey finish since.”

Ogungbemide tok sey cari di keke rider, identified as Adeshine Adeyemo, go face F. Ojehumen, chief magistrate of di Evbuoriaria Magistrate Court for Benin, under case number MEV/117C/2020.

Ogungbemide tok sey dem convict Adeyemo on January 11, 2021, give am three-month jail term for malicious damage and breach of di public peace.

Im add sey di FRSC also set up internal panel to investigate di conduct of di officers wey dey di video.

Ogungbemide tok sey even as FRSC no go allow anybody attack dia personnel, dem go still  punish any officer wey dey guilty of misconduct.

“Therefore, di FRSC dey urge di general public to look di video as old tori, wey we don already address wella wit judicial conviction of di offender and disciplinary sanctions ontop di staff wey dey involved,” na so im tok.

Ogungbemide tok sey di corps’ dey committed to safer roads and to improve dia engagement with drivers.

Im folo beg Nigerians sey make dem dey cooperate wit law enforcement officers, assure dem sey di FRSC go continue to uphold professionalism and respect for human dignity.
