One video wey dey waka for social media show as Facebook user claim sey Godwin Emefiele, di forma govnor of di Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), return N4 trillion to di federal govment. 

For di video wey last one minute, 15 seconds, one narrator quote im source of information as “di news”.

“I just read for di news sey Emefiele just return N4 trillion. No be N4 million N40 million, or N400 million. No be even N1 billion, N4 billion, N40 billion, N900 billion, N1 trillion or N2 trillion,” na so im tok.

“One pesin, as forma govnor of .., return to di federation account and dis kain pesin dey go church.”

Im ask sey if dem share dat kain moni give Nigerians, “you know how much evribodi go collect?”

Di user tok sey dem “discover” di moni and e no include “di one for foreign account”.

CableCheck discover sey dem post di video on June 29 by one Facebook user wey im name na Gio TV.

Di post don gada pass 9,000 views, 112 likes, and 29 comments, with commentators wey dey express mixed feelings about how true di informate fit be.

WETIN HAPPEN BEFORE

Emefiele dey face plenti charges, including allegations of using im privileged position to buy properties and control serious amount of moni wey dey suspected to be profits of illegal activities.

On November 1, 2024, Deinde Dipeolu, judge of federal high court for Lagos, order di permanent forfeiture of moni (including $2.045 million), seven choice landed properties, and two share certificates of Queensdorf Global Fund Limited Trust wey belong to Emefiele, give di federal government.

Additionally, one Google search bin dey conducted to check di claim. Di results show sey di tori bin no comot from confam sources but na from sake of claims wey no dey correct.
