FACT CHECK: Viral photos of Chioma with baby bump is from 2023

Davido and Chioma Adeleke

A post claims that Afrobeats star Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, are expecting another child.

The claim was posted by a user identified as Joshua Ijeakhena. It generated over 26,000 likes and garnered over a thousand comments.

The now-viral post featured pictures of Davido and Chioma in matching brown dresses.

In one picture, Davido is seen holding his wife by the waist as the couple both smile.

Chioma also appeared with a baby bump in the picture.

“Aww, Chioma Adeleke is pregnant! Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, are expecting baby number three. The good news was shared after Davido’s birthday celebration,” the post reads.

The post appeared here, here, and here.

VERIFICATION

Findings by CableCheck showed that the viral pictures were screenshots taken from a video .

CableCheck observed that the pictures were taken from a video clip shared by Chioma to celebrate Davido’s 33rd birthday.

Chioma had posted some pictures and videos on her Instagram page to celebrate her husband’s 33rd birthday.

Last week, Davido celebrated his 33rd birthday in grand style while also announcing a new album set for 2026.

However, the video appeared to have been taken during the baby shoot of their twin children, birthed in 2023.

Davido and Chioma had intentionally kept their children’s lives out of the public eye since their birth.

The arrival of the twins in the United States came a year after the death of their first child, Ifeanyi.

An additional search revealed that Chioma was without a baby bump at a recent Adeleke family party.

Another picture from Davido’s surprise birthday party showed Chioma without a baby bump.

Also, CableCheck observed that no credible media platform reported the news that the couple was expecting another child.

VERDICT

There is no evidence to suggest that Davido and Chioma are expecting another baby. Such news would have been widely reported by credible media outlets.

TAGGED: baby, Chioma, Davido
