Correction Policy

CableCheck is dedicated to providing accurate, factual, and reliable information to our audience. Our editorial process is designed to catch potential errors before publication. However, we understand that mistakes may occur, and we welcome your assistance in identifying and correcting them. We invite our audience to report any errors found in our content by reaching out through one of the following channels:

How to Report Errors:

  • Email: factcheck@thecable.ng

  • Social Media: @TheCableng (include clickable links to and with logos of all our SM platforms)

What to Include in Your Report:

  • URL: Provide the specific URL of the fact-check or story containing the error.

  • Error Details: Clearly describe the error you detected.

  • Supporting Evidence: If available, include any evidence supporting your claims. These may include links, documents, or other information that confirms the error.

Correction Process

When we receive a report of an error, our editorial team conducts a thorough review, assessing the information against both previously verified sources and any new evidence submitted, consulting with relevant experts where necessary. If the reported error is confirmed, we will promptly update the fact-check or report with the accurate information and an editor’s note will be added at the bottom of the page to explain the error and outline the corrections made.

If, upon review, the evidence does not support the need for correction or if our investigation reaffirms the accuracy of the original information, we will not update the fact check. Where necessary, we may send feedback to the complainant on the outcome of our review.

Complaints Not Subject to Review

Please, note that vague complaints that do not specify a particular error may not be reviewed. Additionally, complaints based purely on differences in opinion, disagreement with editorial conclusions drawn in our reporting, or personal perspectives on the topics covered do not qualify for a formal review.

While we value all constructive feedback, not all complaints may warrant a response. For example, error reports that have already been addressed. Nonetheless, we consider all input seriously and continually strive to improve the quality and accuracy of our work.

We believe in continuous improvement and appreciate your efforts in helping us uphold high standards of accuracy and integrity. If you have any questions about our correction policy, please feel free to reach out through any of our open communication channels.
